How to unlock encoding and batch in B64 on a Mac

Decoding in B64 is free forever. Here is exactly what the one-time purchase adds and how it follows you around.

What is free

Everything in Decode, with no purchase, no account and no time limit:

  • Paste any Base64 — raw, a data URI, or wrapped in HTML, CSS or Markdown.
  • See the picture, its real format, its dimensions and its size.
  • Quick Look, Copy Image and Save….
  • The Inspector, including SHA-256 checksums of the decoded bytes.

What the purchase unlocks

  • Encode — images and PDFs into Base64, in all five output formats.
  • Batch — whole folders, in either direction, thousands at a time.
  • Line wrapping, export to a text file, and checksum manifests.
One purchase, not a subscription

It is a single in-app purchase with no recurring charge. It is tied to your Apple Account, so it follows you across reinstalls and onto every Mac you own.

Unlock it

  1. Try a Pro feature, or open Settings

Reaching for Encode or Batch without an unlock brings up the unlock screen. You can also get there from B64 ▸ Settings… ▸ About.

  2. Complete the purchase

Handled by the Mac App Store, in your local currency, with your existing Apple Account. B64 never sees your payment details.

  3. Carry on

Encode and Batch become available immediately. Nothing else changes.

On another Mac, or after a reinstall

Sign in with the same Apple Account and use Restore Purchases from Settings ▸ About. There is nothing to type in and no licence key to keep — the unlock is a property of your account.

If you bought the original B64

You are unlocked automatically. Customers of the original paid version are recognised and keep encoding and batch conversion without paying again.

Troubleshooting

Restore Purchases did not find anything

Check you are signed into the Apple Account that made the purchase — a personal account and a work account are easy to mix up. Then try again.

I erased app data and Encode is locked again

Erasing app data clears local settings and history. Restore Purchases brings the unlock back; the purchase itself was never in the app.

I only need to decode

Then you never have to buy anything. Decoding is free forever, and that is not a trial.
